Euphorbia mammillaris f. variegata

|8-10 cm ↑|Even if it looks like it: Not a cactus - but Euphorbia! This plant with white frosting is a real eye-catcher! The otherwise khaki-green shoots are chalk white - and in cool conditions the shoot tips even turn a light pink. The shoots can grow up to 35 cm high and then resemble a corn cob - hence the Indian nickname corn cob cactus. The thorns are whitish, thick and pointed like toothpicks, up to 1 cm long. The small red and orange flowers are quite magical! As with all Euphorbias: protect from frost! syn: Euphorbia mammillaris cv. alba

hints on cultivation:
from Madagascar and Central to Southern Africa, growing season from middle of march until middle of november in a sunny and warm place, may also grow in a protected place outside during summer. Water regulary when foliage is fully developed, rest season from middle of november to march, keep above 12 - 14 °C

Be carefull when handeling this plants! Wear gloves and safety goggles! The milky sap can be highly irritating your skin or eyes. Avoid any skin contact, wash with cold water and clean your tools.
