Eriospermum dregei Y.

|5-8 cm Ø|Eriospermum dregei is endemic to the Eastern Cape and Western Cape of South Africa and grows in areas with winter precipitation on very shallow and nutrient-poor soils. This plant curiosity forms a single leaf blade with branched, feather-like appendages called enations, which vary in length. They look a bit like fuzzy parsley. In the wild, the leaf dies back each summer and sprouts again around late summer-autumn. If it is old enough, it should also flower at this time. The flowers are fully open, up to 0,4 inch in diameter and triangular, the petals white with a striking green midvein, sometimes overlaid with red streaking.
