|9-cm-Topf|The only species of the cacti family native to the African continent. Native habitat: East Africa, Uganda, Lake Victoria, Sese Islands, Bugala Isle and souther Kalangala. Species grows up in 10m height on trees of the primary forest in communities with orchids and ferns. The particular specimen was found at Lake Victoria, 1134m NN in a forest 30 m above mean sea level on the 5th Feb. 1992. The plants are well branched with at least 30cm in length.
