Cactus mustard

In a historic mill in Kleinhettstedt (near Arnstadt) in Thuringia, the Morgenroth family runs a mustard manufactory. Looking closer, cacti and mustard have something in common. Similar to the growth of cacti - in Kleinhettstedt, too, the mill wheels turn more slowly than usual ...

... and that has a good reason.

Due to the slow and gentle grinding the mustard flour remains cold unlike industrial production. So the flavor is preserved. Not only mustard enthusiasts enjoy the mustard from Kleinhettstedt and call it "simply delicious" - even we do so at Kakteen-Haage.

That is why the basis of our cactus mustard is prepared in Kleinhettstedt.

We mix delicious marinated cactus pieces and strong Mexican spices. Finally, three different chili varieties give the whole the typical taste with a decent bite. The whole thing comes in a small cooling stoneware pot to remain fresh - and hot!
